Mindful Eating

  • 6 Steps

About

Mindful eating is simply about paying attention to the experience of eating in the present moment without judgment, stress, or distraction. Mindful eating is about slowing down and paying attention to food with all our senses. It means noticing when we’re hungry, enjoying the colours, textures, and tastes of each bite, and stopping when we feel full, without pressure or stress. For toddlers, mindful eating is less about “rules” and more about building positive habits around food. When parents model calm, curious eating, children learn that mealtimes are enjoyable, not a battle. Mindful eating is something all children benefit from and helps create great relationships with foods and mealtimes.
